Ghost 3D's
Surf-iT
spline based modeling plugin has been updated to version 1.24. This version
is primarily a compatibility upgrade. However, some additional features
and enhancements have been added and have also been implemented
in the 3ds max R3 version of Surf-iT 1.24.
(continued...)
The following is a list of some of the key features or enhancements that have changed:
• Auto EQA Handling:
- Added to Surf-iT Patch and Surf-iT Mesh Parameters. This new technology affords game developers and 3D artists alike a more flexible option to surface very involved and dense adjacencies of quadrangular shapes in the Spline model.
• Spline Editor additions.
- In 3ds max R4 the Spline Editor adds support for Soft Selection and vertex selection by segment.
• 3ds max 4 Rendering and Interpolation support for S-Objects.
- The S-Object’s General rollouts have been substituted with Rendering and Interpolation rollouts in the 3ds max R4 version of Surf-iT 1.24. This provides mesh renderability of Splines in the viewports. For and explanation of each new feature look at the bottom of the section for each new S-Object.
• Updated Surf-iT Macros/UI:
- Adapted scripts to R4 changes and added UI menus for 3ds max R4.
- Added support for EQA Handling in Surf-iT Ref Preview floater for 3ds max R3 and R4.
- Surf-iT Ref Preview is still preferred for modeling with Surf-iT so that you can see vertices and segment selected by Anomaly Detection while working with Splines.
