Cubicspace and ArchVision have signed a licensing agreement to support the use of RPC (rich photo-realistic content) within rtre™ - the revolutionary real-time visualisation solution recently launched by Cubicspace. Users can add multiple RPC objects straight into rtre while running Autodesk VIZ 4 and 3ds max 4 and 5. The objects are then automatically incorporated into real-time rendered scenes, creating high quality output as still images, movies or stand-alone presentations, in moments.
(continued...) ArchVision's extensive array of RPC libraries are a well-established resource for architects and designers, enhancing the realism of rendered scenes by adding photo-realistic people, trees, fountains, furniture, office accessories and cars. The image-based files are viewable from 360 degrees, ensuring realism from every angle. "We have found that RPC libraries bring real time scenes to life in an instant, particularly when using animated characters," says Paul Markham, Director of Cubicspace. "Many users are unable to create and animate realistic 3D models. When we began demonstrating how easy and effective it can be to add RPC walking people to presentations, the looks of surprise and delight we were seeing as realistic characters walk around our real time scenes, convinced us that RPC for rtre must be a high priority development." "RPC continues to win support from the most popular 3d software tools and programs which can only benefit our customers by extending the breadth and depth of RPC," says Randall Stevens, president and CEO of ArchVision. Windows-based rtre is a suite of plug-ins and stand-alone tools for Autodesk VIZ and Discreet's 3ds max applications. rtre renders textured million-plus polygon scenes in a fraction of a second rather than minutes or hours and enables their instantaneous output as still images, movies or stand-alone presentations. "Our commitment to enhancing workflow has already been proved with the introduction of real time rendering with rtre," adds Markham. "The added support for RPC will benefit very many users. This agreement again demonstrates our commitment to improving workflow efficiency by ensuring that current users may re-use their existing RPC libraries within rtre, without any conversion." Cubicspace will be previewing RPC for rtre at the Autodesk University Conference in Las Vegas from 3 to 6 December, 2002. A downloadable trial version of rtre can be found at www.cubicspace.com/rtre . |
