Clay is a new stand-alone 3D modeler created for artists which follows the modeling paradigm inspired by Nendo. Its main focus is providing modelers with a creative and intuitive workflow. Jason Nairn started its development because he felt that "current tools were not expressive enough (...) every time you stop and have to hunt through tool sets I believe you lose your creative process". Take a look at the website's gallery. Clay is currently available only to a few private beta testers.
Also of note, Wings3D, another stand-alone modeling program has received a new update (0.98.04).
