Act-3D announced the upcoming release of Quest3D version 3. The new version has many new improvements and features, including support for DirectX 9 HLSL shaders. A new family member will also be added to the product range; “Quest3D VR Edition” with support for a wider range of VR equipment.
(continued...) LEIDEN, THE NETHERLANDS – FEBRUARI 2nd, 2005 – Act-3D B.V. today announced the upcoming release of Quest3D version 3. The new version has many new improvements and features, including support for DirectX 9 HLSL shaders. A new family member will also be added to the product range; “Quest3D VR Edition” with support for a wider range of VR equipment. The new and improved version 3.0 will be released on the 31st of March, 2005. In the upcoming weeks a complete feature list will be published on www.quest3d.com. The new version can already be purchased, and all who do will receive a version 2.5 license until the release date. Existing customers are able to upgrade with a large discount. The core engine of Quest3D 3.0 has been upgraded to use the newest DirectX 9.0 from Microsoft. By upgrading the engine to this new version it is now possible for customers to use HLSL shaders, better user interface design components and access to the power of the latest generation of 3D cards. The new “Quest3D VR Edition” will have support for data gloves and motion trackers from all major manufacturers. Other special features will include stereo driver support and network synchronization for large screen projection and cave-setups using multiple PC’s. |
