Todd Sheridan Perry reviews
Max 9 for Digital Producer : "... unless you are upgrading your workstations to Windows 64 or Windows Vista, you can probably hold out for a point upgrade."
(continued...) Comments:
Quite a negative review for a cool upgrade. I don't agree at all. Did you notice the drastical speed improvements, the bitmap proxies ..........? Posted by: Ron Martin at December 14, 2006 01:27 AM He didn't even know that Max Hair and Fur is based on, and has always been based on, Joe Alter's Shave and a Haircut. Also, he had no idea that the new Point Cache system allows data to be transfered between Max 9 and Maya 8. To me it seemed like a very uninformed review. Posted by: Eric Craft at December 14, 2006 12:49 PM Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's generally based on what features are important to you, if you're an animator, for example, and most of the new tools revolve around animation for a release, you'll be happy. If you're a modeling person, or a lighting / rendering person, then you'll not like the release. For me, Max9 has no new tools I want or need. But I'm very happy if the new features inside max9 help anyone else out. Posted by: Neil Blevins at December 18, 2006 08:29 AM |
