Quite a negative review for a cool upgrade. I don't agree at all. Did you notice the drastical speed improvements, the bitmap proxies ..........?

He didn't even know that Max Hair and Fur is based on, and has always been based on, Joe Alter's Shave and a Haircut. Also, he had no idea that the new Point Cache system allows data to be transfered between Max 9 and Maya 8. To me it seemed like a very uninformed review.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's generally based on what features are important to you, if you're an animator, for example, and most of the new tools revolve around animation for a release, you'll be happy. If you're a modeling person, or a lighting / rendering person, then you'll not like the release. For me, Max9 has no new tools I want or need. But I'm very happy if the new features inside max9 help anyone else out.
