An image rendered with the Irradiance Particles implementation being developed for Mental Ray can be found at a thread at MayaLounge.com forums (French). The competition and features being offered by other renderers are clearly proving to be beneficial to Mental Ray users. In this light, it would be healthy for Max to have once again this kind of competition in the 3D field.
