An interesting new book by Christian Bloch that covers HDR imaging and according to his website is a successor to his very own diploma thesis on HDRI. Tools | GIMP 2.4 released
Many new features and enhancements in this latest release of the open source graphics program. Also of note, for those who find GIMP's interface a bit confusing, a version that mimics Photoshop's interface called GIMPshop is also available (though it hasn't yet incorporated the features of v2.4).

The fourth installment of Spiral Graphics' line of free seamless texture packs has been released. With the latest pack more than 150 textures have been added to the collection, bringing the total number of freely downloadable seamless textures to approximately 600.
