Schematic Material Editor (SME) is a system that allows the user to easily build and examine Shader trees in Max. The authors want the system to also allow fast and intuitive access to using scripted and expression controllers with shaders, and also make re-use of nodes easier and more evident i.e. to show when nodes are instanced and also show what shaders they are used in. They also want it to work not just with Max shaders, but also with all other third party Max renderers. They will also be adding new fuctionality via new logic and utility nodes.

This utility is basically the same as the R4 scatter routine. If you pick a scatter object and an emitter object then hit the Apply button, the scatter object is copied to each vertex of the emitter object. The random distribution and number of objects have not yet been implemented. After you hit the Apply you must force screen redraw to see the results.

FisheyeRender is a plugin for rendering dome masters (circular fisheye images) of the scene using the current renderer. It provides an easy and quick way to create accurate equidistant projection images in Max.

The FREE version has restrictions like not being able to render multiple frames at a time. The PRO version offers a variety of additional features and a lot of flexibility needed in the production of fulldome movies. The FREE version supports up to 32-bit color (8 bits each for R, G, B, and Alpha). The PRO version also supports Z-buffer output.

This is a tool for baking ambient occlusion into the vertex color channel. It's based on NVIDIA's dynamic ambient occlusion paper, and uses CUDA to calculate the AO for each vertex. Compared with the CPU, this plugin using the GPU is 22 times faster.
