12.04.2023 SplineOffset is similar to the array tool built into Max combined with a sophisticated spline offset function, but with two big benefits: firstly, SplineOffset is fully parametric so you can change or animate the number of clones, the size of the offsets, and their distribution at any time; secondly, and for the first time as a modifier, SplineOffset is able to automatically heal overlapping splines so that they form one continuous path. Other features include the ability to set, offset and sequence material IDs; a choice of 5 end types for open splines; and options to specify 3 types of corner bevel. You can even add multiple SplineOffset modifiers to create 2D and 3D arrays, each with their own settings. |

28.04.2022 Surface Morph allows you to do surface based morphing: rather than calculate a deformation in object space, the deformation is calculated in surface space which is independent of the current pose. This means you can do things like morph above deformation modifiers in the stack. For example you can deform/skin a low resolution character, then subdivide and morph up wrinkles or other deformations on the animated high res mesh, using morph targets created with the high resolution mesh. |

07.11.2021 Texture Layers allows you to keep and animate all of your mapping channels in just one modifier, including its own sub-object face/patch selection. You can copy, cut, paste, save and load mapping channels inside the same modifier, or from one modifier to another. Usual mapping techniques are fine for objects like boxes, spheres or cylinders, but even a simple procedural object like the torus is almost impossible to map well with traditional mapping techniques, not to mention more complex models like the ones you work with every day. Here is where TexLay fills the gap with its two procedural mapping types, Spline Mapping and Free Form Mapping.
