InstantExport is the InstantReality X3D exporter for Max and not only exports XML-based X3D as well as VRML, its classic encoding, but it can also now directly export to HTML/ XHTML.

X3DOM (pronounced X-Freedom) is an experimental open source framework and runtime to support the ongoing discussion in the Web3D and W3C communities of how an integration of HTML5 and declarative 3D content could look like. It tries to fulfill the current HTML5 specification for declarative 3D content and allows including X3D elements as part of any HTML5 DOM tree.

kW X-port can export a scene as geometry and animation out of Max. It correctly exports geometry skinned with the ISkin modifier, as well as regular objects, with up to 4 channels of UV data, tangents, binormals, and other useful geometry options.

Additionally, it can re-write texture references (turn them relative, and/or change the extension of all textures to .dds), and ignore (or include) geometry with no material assigned.

For animations, both skinned and un-skinned animations are supported, and you can define multiple animations as separate subsets of the Max timeline. Each has its own name, and they can even have different time scales.

This version from Mark Blosser has a few improvements over the last Jon Watte version, including an option to disable 'ticks' to control the timing of animations and support for the latest Max versions.

This beta importer can handle both LWOB and LWO2 file formats, but at the moment will only import meshes with no texture coordinates. It works with simple objects, but will probably fail on complex scenes. It can also only import a maximum of 50,000 vertices per scene (at the moment).

This is an improved version of Pop'N'Fresh's original 3ds Max MD3 exporter for Quake III MD3 models. The following major fixes and features have been implemented:
- Correct vertex normals supporting both Smoothing Groups and the Edit Normals Modifier
- Bounding box calculation for each frame
- Improved error checking and validation (added warnings if texture images are not 'Power of 2' and also warn if mesh exceeds 1000 vertices)
- Exports valid Q3A path names (using forward slashes and not backslashes)
- Exports LODs to separate MD3 files with correct LOD file names
- Displays an export statistics dialog providing actual triangle and vertex counts for the exported geometry (shows the extra vertices created due to smoothGroups, EditNormals, or UVs)
