28.04.2022 This is a map plugin that allows you to have a single map render out to multiple material ID's. There are times when a Multi-Sub *material* is way more than you need, where the only real difference between the different materials will be one or two maps. So just use maps instead. Current limitation is that it is not mental ray compatible. Also that it is hard-wired to 15 slots. |

31.03.2019 This texture map can be used to render materials with a complex index of refraction (IOR). The Fresnel functionality in renderers such as V-Ray and Corona is for dielectric materials such as plastic and is based on the IOR of the material. Metals however have a more complex Fresnel reflective curve that depends also on another parameter called the extinction coefficient. The IOR and the extinction coefficient determine the two characteristics of the Fresnel curve for a material: the reflectivity at normal incidence and how quickly it fades to white at grazing angles. |
