Jerry Ylilammi BerconMetaball v1.14
229 KB
Object
Compiled / Description
12.05.2010

This is very similar to Max's own Blobmesh, but without the viewport preview. It also only works with V-Ray v1.50 SP3a and higher. Advantages over the standard Blobmesh are:
- It requires very little RAM (it's possible to render 10,000,000 particles with ~2GB)
- It is perfectly smooth with no meshing artifacts
- It supports true 3D motion blur
- A very fast preparation time due to the lack of mesh generation at render time
- Supports textures as density fields

More information and some examples can be found at the ChaosGroup forum.

Peter Watje BlobMesh v1.0a
73 KB
Object
Compiled / Description
10.02.2010

This is an enhancement to the shipping BlobMesh compound object. It adds 2 new options: analytic normals and the option to use a 3D texture as an iso surface. These are only available when 'Large Data Set Optimization' is on.

I've made a few changes so that both versions of BlobMesh (the original and this one) can be loaded at the same time. This one appears in Max as BlobMesh2.
