Changes for v1.3 are:
- New Spline Mirror modifier will mirror splines (and weld if desired) using a mirror gizmo object
- Freehand Spline adds an option to show the spline normals (if present)
- PathDeform2 has a new adaptive up vector implementation, greatly reducing spline 'pinches'

FFmpeg Plugin for Max v0.9 from Qinming Ren
This FFmpeg plugin provides support for mp4/h264/mkv/flv/ifl2 video file formats and dpx/jp2/jpc/jpk/ppm image file formats. Additionally it adds support for an image cache, allowing you playback video and image sequences in realtime.

Plugin News: Plugins for Max 2017
As you have probably all noticed, Max 2017 was released on Monday. For this version, all plugins need to be recompiled, so in the course of the next few weeks I will be adding the mass of plugins that I have the source code for.
I have recompiled quite a few already, but I still need to do some testing on them before I release them. Time allowing, I'll be doing the BlurBeta plugins this week, so hopefully I'll be able to upload them the beginning of next week.
In any case, please be patient. It takes up quite a bit of my free time, and my day job doesn't leave me much of that right now...

Plugin News: Reindeer - a new node based render manager
AnimaThings have released a discounted pre-release version of their upcoming node based render manager Reindeer.
The central idea of Reindeer is that you do your scene setup once and then have all the boring stuff done automatically at every new iteration. All you have to do is push the Render button. Reindeer is configured to take care of most of the usual stuff right out of the box, and you can use a friendly node based interface to easily make it do anything else. By using the script nodes it is extremely flexible and customizable, you will even find other uses than just managing renders.
On purchase you will get a single user one year license and starting from the official release date at least the first renewal for free.
Reindeer is available for Max 2014 to 2016 (it may also work with older versions) and the pre-release costs €25.

MCG Chamfered Rectangle v1.01 from Vu Nguyen
This MCG object gives segment control for each component of a rectangle, ie: corner, length and width. It also has a Show Segs option so you can see the segments while setting it up without having to go through right-click / object properties.

MCG Curl v1.0 from Vu Nguyen
This MCG will curl a spline, which you can then skin to a mesh and do a carpet roll effect. It can also be used for a flower petals effect.
MCG Curl is available for Max 2016 and costs $5.

This MCG modifier allow you scatter objects on quad polygons, similar to how Greeble works but with custom geometry. You can use 3 different source objects for each material ID, if you need more, you can apply this MCG multiple times.

New Plugin: Modelling / Texturing
FloorGenerator generates floor objects consisting of individual boards which can easily be textured using MultiTexture (also from CG-Source.com).
It's a great tool if you're doing architecture visualization and need to make floors that are NOT going to tile and that you can see up close without any pixelation.
Compared to the free version, this full version can create 5 different floor patterns.

Key features include:

New Plugin: MCG
MCG GetQuadInfo v1.01 from Vu Nguyen
This is a generic MCG compound which you can use in your MCG. To simplify things, this assumes your mesh is pure quads. Because it is a compound, you can't 'install' it so it comes with a dummy MCG to clone on quads. Just install the MCG to get the compound Vu_GetQuadInfo. The dummy MCG also illustrates how to use this compound. If you need the quad area, simply sum up the areas of the 2 tris. Strictly speaking, the compound returns an Array of Triples.

This commercial MAXScript is designed to bake all of your animation in to bones. If you work in the game industry, this script will be very useful to you because it allows you to optimize your scene for such engines as Unity or Unreal. Instead of having to stage a lot of objects, you will be able to load them as one, which is very useful when simulating breaking RDB.
Animation to Bone is available for Max 2014 to 2016 and costs $5.

MCG CylXGrid v1.0 from Vu Nguyen
This MCG creates a Spline Grid/XGrid pattern that is a seamless cylinder. It is similar to the free XGrid MCG, but this MCG saves you doing manual welding after you've bent it into a cylinder.
MCG CylXGrid is available for Max 2016 and costs $5.

This plugin brings Blender's Cycles rendering engine to Max. Cycles is a path-tracing renderer that runs on CPUs as well as GPUs (CUDA-only at the moment).
